PINBALL 2 game - a question

Hi there.
Somehow the game ( http://www.zx81-siggi.endoftheinternet. ... pinball2.p ) doesn't work on my ZX81 16K. The ball starts and then just flying over the "TIMEX" inscription.
The weird thing is, the game works normally on emulator.
Can anybody say what's wrong?

how do behave other m/c programs on your real Zeddy? If they also behave different on an emulator,
you might have a different ROM there.
There were two roms for the ZX81 (old and new rom). Emulators use the "new" rom.
They behave identically at BASIC level, but some m/c routines in the rom are at different locations. So own m/c programs calling rom routines might fail, if they jump into the wrong rom.
AFAIK the "FAST"-routine is at $F23 (3875) in the new rom and somewhere else in the old rom. So do PEEK 3875 in the emulator and your real Zeddy. If the values differ, you have different roms.

Ah! I see. Yes, it seems like that's true.
I found another weird thing ( http://www.rwapservices.co.uk/ZX80_ZX81 ... n-t57.html ) and it is so sefl-repeating that it doesn't look like tape loading error.
Now I understand.
However I strongly regret because the "Pinball 2" is very good game, not to say 'impressing'. I ment even to show it on some parties for other platforms but now sadly it will notbe possible.
Until I buy another ZX81, hehehe.

Well, you could "burn" the new ROM in an EPROM and put this into your ZX. This includes some hardware patches, but it's easy...
